Fusebox SVN repository reorganized

December 15, 2007 · No Comments

If you've been using the BER (Bleeding Edge Release) of Fusebox from the Subversion repository, you'll get a surprise the next time you update: we've reorganized everything and added an ant build.xml file. What's changed? The core files now have their own directory (called "corefiles"). The scaffolding code has its own directory (called "scaffolder" - to match the directory name it expects to be run in). A new "build" directory contains an ant script that creates four ZIP files: core files, extensions, scaffolder and skeleton. Why has it changed? As Fusebox 5 has evolved, the extensions and scaffolding code have grown and become more important standalone items so it made sense to separate them out. Also, the core files were just mixed in with everything else on the top-level. What's coming? There will be a minor update shortly - 5.5.1 - that includes a couple of fixes to the implicit circuit machinery and additional updates to the scaffolder (which is still considered beta and will continue to be updated independently of the rest of the package). After 5.5.1, I'll start work on 5.6, adding basic support for simple Fusebox 3 applications and enhancing the implicit circuit machinery - as well as some enhancements to the "traditional" XML-based approach. The plan is to release 5.6 around CFUNITED and 5.7 by the end of 2008 with "full" support for Fusebox 3 applications.
